A busy and expanding main contractor with a full pipeline of secured work is looking for a confident and capable Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to take the step up and run your own project.

With a solid reputation for delivering high-quality schemes across commercial, residential, education, and mixed-use sectors, this contractor is growing fast — and offers the ideal environment for ambitious surveyors to progress quickly.

??? The Role:

Based between a modern Brentwood head office and sites across London, you'll take commercial responsibility for your own project, supported by a senior surveyor or commercial manager when needed.

This is a hands-on, career-building opportunity where you won’t be stuck in someone else’s shadow — you'll be trusted to deliver.

?? Key Responsibilities:

  Manage day-to-day commercial activities on a live project

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with procurement, cost reporting, valuations, and variations

  
  


• 
  

  Build strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants, and site teams

  
  


• 
  

  Work closely with project and commercial leads to ensure smooth delivery

  
  


• 
  

  Take ownership while learning and growing in a supportive team

  
  

?? About You:

• 
  

  2–4 years’ experience with a main contractor in a QS/Assistant QS role

  
  


• 
  

  Familiar with JCT contracts and commercial processes

  
  


• 
  

  Ready to step up and take ownership of a project

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

  
  


• 
  

  Able to travel to sites across London and commute to Brentwood HQ
