The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Audio Visual Technical Service Engineer to work for a successful and growing integration company.
You will be a self-motivated and multi-disciplined Technical Engineer working on customer sites to resolve system breakdowns or maintenance works to the highest standards in technical, compliance and customer service.
Key responsibilities:
- Attending client sites and resolving issues in a timely and neat manner.
- Using problem solving skills to find faults and consistently provide high standard solutions.
- Deliver clear and informative end user training to facilitate the smooth operation of the equipment.
- Accurately completing job reports and explaining the steps taken before a sign-off by the client.
- Communicate and build relationships with clients.
- Identifying sales opportunities with existing clients and feeding back to our Sales team
- Conducting and recording site surveys to a high standard.
- Maintaining standards of technical excellence within the team.
- Occasional working on construction sites where required to support system commissioning
- Ongoing technical development

Based West of London - Middlesex, Surrey basic salary will be £37.5k-£39.5k plus overtime, van & benefits *
Your skills and Experience
- Demonstrable and significant experience working in a comparable Service Engineer role
- Strong demonstrable experience gained in an AV engineering type role such as wireless mic systems, basic mixers, zoned mixers, DSPs, amplifiers, public address systems, rack wiring, speakers (LowZ and 100v), TVs, HDMI solutions, projectors, interconnections, wiring, connector cable pin-outs
- Knowledge and understanding working in service and technology fields such as, RF/TV/Sat systems, effect lighting, access control, data networks, and automation
- Demonstrable appetite for continuous technical development to attain the breadth of skills of the Service Engineer
- A technical mind-set to logically assess an issue to pinpoint the fault
- Previous experience of using problem solving skills to find faults and provide high quality solutions
- Self-motivated with a commitment to the issue at hand
- Able to read and understand AV system schematics and drawings
- Able to terminate cables to industry standard
- Understand PC based IP networks
- ECS Electrotechnical Certification Scheme or equivalent
- Soldering proficiency, working with audio connectors and cables
- Able to work under pressure to tight timescales
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Presentable in appearance when on site
- Professional demeanour
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong technical learning ability.
- Be highly mobile flexible as a remote engineering covering a wider geographical region
- Be a natural problem solver able to draw on your own knowledge and skill, whilst knowing your own limits and willing to call on support as necessary to deliver the best fit outcomes for customers
- Happy and willing to work alone for long periods
- Familiar with working in customer environments during their normal operational working, adapting your practices to ensure the presence of members of the public are taken into consideration and respected
- You must hold the right to work in the UK
