Bookkeeper (salary £27 - £35k depending on experience) is needed to join a well-established leading sports medicine supplier, looking after all the needs of NHS, Clinics and Sports Clubs across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the growth and development of a successful and growing business. The Bookkeeper will support the smooth running of the finance function and will work closely with colleagues, customers and suppliers in this role.
Reporting to the General Manager and with regular liaison with the Australian Head Office, this is a busy and multi-faceted role involving responsibilities such as:
- Accounts Receivable – processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software
- Accounts Payable – processing supplier invoices and making payments (including overseas)
- Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss, balance sheets and forecasting
- Reconciliations as required
- Daily cash reporting
- Month end journals, worksheets and reports
- Payroll – preparing employee wages, managing expense claims and dealing with matters relating to pensions and insurance
- Completing quarterly VAT returns
- Maintaining and updating the asset register
This is a busy role requiring the post holder to be methodical, able to meet regular compliance-driven deadlines and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
As the Bookkeeper, you will:
- Have previous experience of a similar role with a solid demonstrable understanding of accountancy and bookkeeping principles with relevant accounting qualifications such as AAT or ICB
- Have strong IT skills including good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Google Sheets
- Have a high level of attention to detail
- Have good communication and organisational skills
- Be flexible, proactive and versatile in approach
- Be an excellent team player, personable and able to get on with colleagues
- Be comfortable and able to work under pressure in a busy office and to meet time deadlines
