Carpenter

Our client is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry techniques and be proficient in using both hand and power tools. This role involves working on a variety of projects, including residential and commercial builds, renovations, and repairs. The Carpenter will be responsible for ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard
• Fabricate custom woodwork according to specifications
• Perform joinery tasks to create strong connections between different materials
• Execute roofing tasks, ensuring proper installation for durability and weather resistance
• Carry out masonry work as required for specific projects
• Conduct electrical installations when necessary, adhering to safety regulations
• Use hand tools and power tools effectively for various carpentry tasks
• Paint surfaces as needed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of completed projects
• Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organised throughout the duration of projects

Skills

• Proficient in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, and hammers
• Experienced with power tools including drills, sanders, and nail guns
• Strong knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
• Ability to plumb structures accurately for proper alignment
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong physical stamina to perform manual labour for extended periods
