Our client is seeking an experienced and talented Chef to join their team in an Italian family restaurant on Hartlepool Marina.
Duties:
- Plan and direct food preparation and cooking dishes to specification.
- Assist in the creation and development of new, cost-effective menu items.
- Ensure that the kitchen runs in accordance with food safety standards, including documentation and Health and Safety procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
Requirements:
- Must be knowledgeable on meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, particularly pizza and pasta dishes and other Italian cuisine.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of and adherence to food hygiene procedures necessary.
- Knowledge of and able to adapt dishes to cater for customer dietary requirements and allergies.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a team and liaison with front of house and management.
This role is a full-time role with a minimum of 40 hours per week, available across 5 days. A bonus may be awarded based on performance and ability.
