Horton Housing is a not-for-profit Housing Association that manages a wide range of different housing, training and support services across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and North Yorkshire. We offer support to a variety of people, including those who are homeless or at risk, young people and refugees. We offer accommodation, skills and language support, and use a strength based approach to help the people we support achieve their goals in a manner which works for them.

We are currently recruiting for a Dual Support Worker to join our HACS 4 All service in Keighley. This position is 35 hours per week.

The role

The Support Worker will be responsible for assisting people in there day to day life skills set, which will include supporting people to maintain their tenancy agreements, achieving successful outcomes. You will be responsible for delivering tenancy ready training and support to enable people to move into permanent housing. You will also assist people in the practical and emotional aspects of maintaining their accommodation, liaising with other support services.  You will ensure immediate needs are met, such as access to welfare benefits, food, clothing and health care. You will provide appropriate support based on the person’s needs, using assessment and support plans.

What we are looking for

  • Experience working with people with multiple needs such as: mental health challenges, offending behaviour, drug and/or alcohol problems.
  • Knowledge of health and safety tasks, including in the maintenance of properties (i.e. fire alarm tests, property checks, reporting repairs etc.)
  • Experience of planning, organising and prioritising work to maintain accurate and timely reports.
  • Have excellent communication, report writing and ICT skills.
  • You are approachable, adaptable and have the ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure.
