Role: Family Support Worker – Make a Real Difference!

Location: Bromley, London

Hours: Part-time; Nights (36 hours per week; Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday)

Salary: £27,352 - £29,484 per annum (Pro rata - £25,272)

Their residential family centre in Bromley supports up to nine families, empowering parents to develop the skills they need to care for their children safely and effectively. 

As a Family Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in guiding and supporting parents, helping them build confidence, enhance their parenting skills, and create a stable future for their children. This is not just a job; it's an opportunity to be part of something truly meaningful! 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Empowering families – Work closely with parents, encouraging positive change and supporting their journey towards independence.
  • Hands-on support – Accompany families to appointments, shopping trips, and recreational activities, providing essential guidance.
  • Observing & Assessing – Maintain accurate records, contribute to evidence-based assessments, and ensure children's welfare is always a priority.
  • Working as part of a dynamic team – Collaborate in meetings, handovers, and case discussions to ensure the best outcomes for families.
  • Being a role model – Lead by example and promote a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where families can thrive. 

What They’re Looking For:

  • Passionate about making a difference – You genuinely care about supporting families and safeguarding children.
  • Qualified & Experienced – You hold at least a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and ideally have experience working with vulnerable children and families. 
  • Committed to safeguarding – You understand the importance of child protection and adhere to safeguarding policies. 
  • Flexible & Adaptable – Willing to work a shift-based rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Clear DBS check – This role requires a clear background check due to its sensitive nature.
