  • Overtime Pay: Receive 1.5x your rate for weekdays and Saturdays, and 2x for Sundays.

  • The standard working hours are 07:30 to 17:30. Any time worked outside of these hours is considered overtime, which includes travel time.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Perform engineering duties such as installation, commissioning, and breakdown repairs on the company Vertical and Horizontal Flow Wrapping equipment.

  • Promote after-market activities to enhance customer value.

  • Foster positive relationships with customers and provide technical support via telephone.

  • Offer out-of-hours support for the 24/7 telephone support line.

  • Deliver training on the safe use of equipment.

  • Accurately complete service report sheets daily.

  • Conduct mechanical and electrical refurbishments and repairs both in the workshop and at customer sites.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues to ensure a cohesive team approach.

  • Adhere to health and safety procedures, ensuring consistent and professional attendance and punctuality.



Skills and Experience:




  • Experience with flexible form, fill & seal machinery, and packaging machinery is advantageous but not essential.

  • Proven field service experience is preferred.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and servicing technical equipment.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.

  • Sound knowledge of electrical/electronic systems, including servo drives and PLCs.

  • Qualified Apprentice Engineering Technician or HND in electrical (preferred) or mechanical engineering.

  • Computer literate with excellent communication and administration skills.

  • A proactive, “can do” approach and the ability to work well under pressure.

  • Organised with a methodical approach to tasks and a positive attitude towards teamwork.

Additional Information:

This role requires time away from home and weekend work, with new engineers expected to be available for two weekends per month for planned or emergency work. Overtime is paid for all hours except one hour each day, deemed commute time. When working away, meals are fully covered, and employees receive an additional overnight allowance of £12. The expenses package is comprehensive and includes workwear, a hotel pass, and a fuel card. Additionally, if working beyond 8pm, a meal is provided to ensure employees are well-supported.
