This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join a national charity, where you will have exposure to a range of areas within the Finance Team.

Contract: 6 Months Fixed Term Contract

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 per week

Salary: £30,057 pa + pension and other benefits

About the Role

As Finance Assistant role you will have exposure to a range of areas within the Finance Team. Reporting to the Payroll and Payables Finance Officer, this role will work closely with another Finance Assistant to maintain the day to day operations of the accounts payable function and support the Banking and Receivables Finance Officer with cash management and sales ledger work. 

The role is expected to be approximately split as 80% Accounts Payable, 20% Payroll/Banking/Receivables but this may vary depending on the demands of the team. 

You will be working with colleagues from across the organisation and key external stakeholders to ensure that staff and suppliers are paid, income is received and cash is held in accordance with their terms and conditions and all legal and regulatory requirements are complied with.

About You

To be successful in the role of Service Manager you will need to have the following skills and experience:

• Experience of working in an Accounts Payable function and preparing payment runs

• Experience of working with an electronic purchase order approval system would be desirable

• Competent spreadsheet skills as well as other Microsoft Office packages

• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

• Ability to be a flexible and co-operative member of a team

• Ability to use initiative and apply sound decision making skills 

• Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage stress

• Excellent attention to detail

• Excellent numeracy skills
