Permanent – 35 hours per week

Salary £45,000 to £49,000 per annum (Depending on experience and qualification)

We are looking for a senior finance professional to join our busy Finance Team. The role leads on the key financial accounting processes of the Association and is a key member of the Finance management team.

About you
You will be a senior member of the Finance management team and lead a team of Finance Officers. You will be primarily responsible for the recording of transactions through the books of account, all banking operations, and the integrity of our financial records. You will be expected to take an active role in decision making in respect of financial accounting, controls, policy, cash flow management and operations. 

You will be expected to remain fully conversant with aspects of housing and social policy that may impact upon the financial stability of the Association, whilst at all times ensuring the effective management and control of all the Association's finances. 

In the role, you will:

  • Ensure all aspects of financial management and control are effectively administered, including ancillary financial matters such as insurance renewals and claims, VAT accounting and returns
  • Ensure the integrity of the nominal ledger and accounts of the organisation, with regular reconciliations performed 
  • Lead a team of Finance Officers, including managing and supporting their professional development.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets for Association and ensure effective budgetary control, including preparation of Trial Balance to support the quarterly reporting of management accounts to Boards.  
  • Develop and maintain the Association's financial system and other key IT systems
  • Monitor and manage the cash flow requirements of the organisation
  • Manage the day to day banking operations of the organisation and the relationships with our bankers
  • Act as an authorised signatory for banking of Horton Group in accordance with Financial Regulations
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure advantageous arrangements
