Horton Housing is a not-for-profit Housing Association that manages a wide range of different housing, training and support services across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and North Yorkshire. We offer support to a variety of people, including those who are homeless or at risk, young people and refugees. We offer accommodation, skills and language support, and use a strength based approach to help the people we support achieve their goals in a manner which works for them.

We are currently recruiting for a Governance Administrative Officer to join Horton Housing Association. This is a brand new role, which will be based from our Head Office in Bradford. The role is 35 hours per week, full time.

The role

The post holder will work closely with the Head of Administration in providing day-to-day management of Horton Group Boards; coordinating the provision, prioritisation and delivery of secretariat services to Board Members and senior colleagues. The post holder should recognise a fundamental aspect of their role is in representing and enhancing the professional image and reputation of the Horton Housing Group.

What we are looking for

  • Experience and knowledge of working and communicating collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, in a TEAMS hybrid environment or in person
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Has an appetite to embrace change and work towards continuous improvement of the Governance function
  • Demonstrating excellent time management with the ability to multi-task and alter priorities as required to meet changing and ad-hoc demands and co-ordinate practical tasks
  • Can evidence vocational training and/or professional development in relevant skills for the post or willingness to work towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g. Governance Qualification) and/or use of Excel and bespoke packages such as Convene for Meetings, SharePoint, Microsoft TEAMS
  • Experience of statistical data analysis for provision of reports for a variety of contacts
  • Recognise the importance of attention to detail, accurate data entry and has experience of monitoring and evaluating information
  • Has a broad understanding of the need to comply with data protection legislation and how this impacts on the day-to-day work of the Governance role
