Graduate Engineer Overhead Line
Location: Midland Metro Ltd, Wednesbury Depot, Potters Lane, WS10 0AR
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, DOE + Excellent Benefits!

West Midlands Metro are now actively recruiting for an Graduate Engineer to develop engineering capabilities within the Overhead Line (OLE) discipline.
In addition to this, following a period of training, as our Graduate Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with technical support to the OLE maintenance team.
- Contributing to the investigation of OLE faults.
- Supporting the development of maintenance plans and corrective repair schemes.
- Participating in the preparation of technical specifications for project work and renewals.
- Reviewing and interpreting survey data to identify condition trends.
- Analysing field data from inspections and testing.
- Contributing to technical reporting, change documentation and engineering assessments.
- Supporting the resolution of emergency defects or urgent repairs under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Contributing to incident reviews, identifying causes and documenting lessons learned.
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
- A BEng or Meng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (minimum 2:2).
- An understanding of engineering principles.
- A basic knowledge of safety and technical standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills alongside strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- A full clean UK Driving license.
It would be great if you had:
- Proficiency in data analysis and use of technical tools.
- Internship / placement experience in rail, OLE or infrastructure engineering.
- Familiarity with CAD software and digital survey tools.
- Awareness of asset management systems.
- Knowledge of railway or DNO electrical systems.
