Horton Housing

Horton Housing is a not-for-profit Housing Association that manages a wide range of different housing, training and support services across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and North Yorkshire. We offer support to a variety of people, including those who are homeless or at risk, young people and refugees. We offer accommodation, skills and language support, and use a strength based approach to help the people we support achieve their goals in a manner which works for them.

We are currently recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to join our STARS service in Kirklees. This role is 17.5 hours per week (Mon – Fri).

The role

You will be responsible for supporting people to maintain their tenancy, alongside working with them to achieve their personal goals and aspirations. At STARS we have 15 properties across the Kirklees area, you will be responsible for the housing management tasks associated with these properties.

What we are looking for

Experience of working with people who have a range of needs, such as drug or alcohol challenges, rough sleeping, mental health challenges and a history of offending.
Knowledge of equality and diversity, which promotes and values people as individuals.
You are approachable, adaptable and have the ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure.
Experience of providing support to people to assist them in maintaining their own homes
Valid driving license and vehicle
Enhanced DBS

What Horton offers in return?
