HR ADVISOR 

We have an exciting, part-time (30 hours) opportunity for an HR Advisor to join our small and supportive HR team in an amazing hospice charity on a permanent basis.

Position: HR Advisor

Location: Hospice Charity in Cambridge – hybrid working available 

Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week (no weekends)

Salary: Starting salary of £29,970 per annum, with opportunities to progress to £36,483 per annum (pro rata)

Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and will be pro-rata’d for part time posts. As a Charity with limited funds, it is usual practice for new starters to commence on the minimum of the salary band for the role. Exceptionally, and only for candidates demonstrating significant strengths relevant to the role, may we be able to negotiate on this.

About the Role

This role will work as part of the HR team providing a comprehensive HR service to all staff through the provision of high quality professional advice and support to managers and staff for all HR related matters. 

Key responsibilities of the HR Advisor include:

• Providing advice and support to managers on all aspects of employee relations and the implementation of policies and procedures.

• Providing advice and support to managers on absence management.

• Providing advice on queries from Charity colleagues.

• Assisting in the development and maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and processes, responding to changes in employment law and legislation. 

This is a varied role where you will be able to make a real difference.

About You

Successful applicants should hold a CIPD Level 5 qualification, or equivalent level of experience, and have a good working knowledge of employment legislation and best practice. Previous experience in an operational HR Advisory capacity is also required. As part of your role, you will be supporting the teams based in Wisbech so will need to be able to travel there for regular visits. This is a varied role where you will be able to make a real difference.

In return they can offer you the opportunity to work in a small and friendly HR team, where you will be fully supported. They offer hybrid working (one day of your weekly hours can be worked from home once your three month probation period has been completed). For office cover you are required to be in the office on a Friday, normal office hours are 9am to 5pm.

They care for more than 4,000 patients each year at their Hospice in Cambridgeshire, the Alan Hudson Day Treatment Centre in Wisbech and in patients’ own homes via the Community Team.
