Teacher of Humanities – KS3–KS4 – September Start – Permanent


Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Humanities subjects across Key Stages 3 and 4. The specific subject mix can be tailored to the candidate’s strengths (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Studies). You will be expected to deliver high-quality lessons, support student progress, and play an active role within a thriving Humanities department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching Humanities across KS3 and KS4

  • Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons

  • Assessing, tracking, and supporting student progress

  • Maintaining a positive and productive learning environment

  • Participating in department and whole-school activities

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent overseas qualification

  • Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level (applications from ECTs are warmly welcomed)

  • Strong subject knowledge in one or more Humanities disciplines

  • Excellent classroom management skills and a passion for education

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
