Role: IT Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic IT Manager to join our established team and be part of a company that truly makes a difference.
As an experienced and proactive IT Manager, you will lead our busy Service Desk and central IT team based in Manchester. Overseeing a dedicated group of IT Administrators, IT Support Analysts, and a Senior IT Engineer, you will provide both strategic leadership and hands-on support. This role involves working closely with the Head of IT to ensure the effective delivery of IT services.
Responsibilities:Service Desk Leadership:Oversee the Service Desk team, set performance goals, provide mentoring, and conduct regular evaluations, including KPI reporting.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality IT support services and act as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Manage the delivery of IT support services to end-users.
Ensure timely resolution of technical issues and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
Participate in troubleshooting and issue resolution as needed.
Work closely with the Clinical Systems Manager to align IT initiatives and goals.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and communication.
Assist IT Administrators with the planning, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of IT systems.
Contribute to the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
Identify training needs and support professional development for team members.
Keep the team informed about industry best practices, emerging technologies, and relevant certifications.
Lead IT projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation and successful delivery.
Provide regular project updates and reports to IT leadership.
Oversee regular visits to remote sites to assess IT infrastructure, support needs, and operational efficiency.
Establish relationships with on-site staff to understand local IT requirements.
Lead the commissioning of new service contracts, ensuring alignment with organisational needs.
Manage the decommissioning of contracts, ensuring a smooth transition to alternative solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain seamless service continuity.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in a managerial role within IT support and service delivery.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent knowledge of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
Relevant certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft certifications, or equivalent.
Experience with IT project management and execution.
Familiarity with cloud computing technologies and cybersecurity best practices.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
