IT Software Sales Account Manager
£28,000 basic + OTE c.£40K
Manchester – Hybrid (3 days office-based, 2 days WFH)
Full-time, permanent | Some travel required (c.1x per month)

Our client is seeking a Sales Account Manager to handle a key vendor relationship, building engagement and pipeline with channel partners across the UK. This is a strategic, consultative sales role requiring someone confident in discussing technical concepts and delivering value-led sales conversations. You’ll be a natural relationship-builder, able to work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions that solve real-world problems in security and infrastructure.
Job Description:
Manage and grow a strategic vendor account within the channel sales ecosystem
Build strong relationships with reseller partners, understanding their customers’ needs and pain points
Deliver solution-led sales conversations, tailoring value propositions to the client environment
Provide product expertise and support the development of joint go-to-market strategies
Own the full sales cycle – from prospecting to deal closure – ensuring targets and KPIs are met
Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasting pipeline activity and tracking performance metrics
Collaborate with technical and marketing teams to support sales campaigns and product launches
Represent the company at events, webinars and meetings (travel approx. once per month)
Person Specification:
Essential:
1-2 years’ experience in IT channel sales, vendor sales or B2B software sales
Proven success in consultative, solution-based selling
Excellent communication skills and a confident, professional approach
KPI-driven with a strong commercial mindset and revenue focus
Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
Tech-savvy, with the ability to learn complex products quickly
Highly organised, self-motivated and team-oriented
Desirable:
Knowledge of operational technology (OT) or critical infrastructure environments (e.g. MOD, energy, utilities, defence)
Experience bridging vendor-partner relationships within a distribution environment
Understanding of cybersecurity or industrial control system security
