One of the largest and most successful, privately owned construction and development groups in the UK.
They deliver projects from initial design through to completion, including new builds, refurbishments, and extensions across predominantly education, healthcare, industrial, leisure, retail, and sports facilities sectors.
They have a new requirement for a M&E Manager with a Mechanical Bias to work out of their Reading office overseeing projects around the outskirts of London including Enfield, Oxford, Reading, Surrey and Kent.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Senior Building Services Manager to manage and competently lead the delivery of the Mechanical, Electrical and public health services installations of the schemes within the companies project portfolio.
- You will be responsible for the managing of each stage of the project delivery process, to ensure all works are fully coordinated and delivered in accordance with the contract programme.
- You will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated person able to work as part of a team, be methodical and have strong communication and interpersonal skills .
- Responsible for managing regular progress review meetings and the preparation of stage reports for regular weekly/ monthly update within the business.
- You will need to manage your own time with regard to your day-to-day duties, where punctual project delivery is essential.
Knowledge / Experience:
- A relevant mechanical or building services qualification
- Considerable industry experience ideally working for a large sub-contractor or main contractor delivering new build projects
- Must have previous new build project experience which include education, health, commercial or sports facilities
- Design management of live schemes and pre-construction activities
- A strong team player comfortable liaising with differing management and client teams.
- Strong IT skills
- A strong understanding of Quality, Safety, Environmental and Legislative systems and procedures
- An appreciation of phasing and construction programming
- Being able to identify risk and opportunity
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure to tight timescales and deadlines
- Working knowledge of Breeam, Part L, Building Regs and industry standards
