Location:Cricklade / Swindon  

Package:£28,350 increasing to £29,057 after successful probation period, plus Bonus and other company benefits 

Hours:  40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7am – 3pm

The Company 

GWP, one of the UK's leading packaging manufacturers, are looking for a Production Print Team Leader to join our established team. You will become part of a business establishedfor more than 30 years, with a strong history of producing sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging.  Being part of Macfarlane PLC (the UK's largest packaging distributor) and experiencing strong growthover the past three years. 

The Production Print Team Leader Role 

The Production Print Team Leader role is well suited to an individual with experience in a manufacturing environment.  With responsibility for a small team of operatives, the equipment in your area, housekeeping, efficiency of the processes and the quality of the finished products.  You will be the point of communication between the production manager, planner and your team.  Accuracy and efficiency are key to this role. 

You must be self-motivated and be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.   

The Production Print Team Leader Key Responsibilities 

Reporting to the Production Manager, your role will involve the following activities: 

• Set the highest example of Health and Safety, Quality, Efficiency, Commitment and Attendance 

• Co-ordinating daily the allocation of your team to processes as required by the production schedule 

• Ensure machinery is prepared at start of shift and shut down properly at the end of shift 

• Deliver completion of tasks within agreed quality standards causing no delay to the overall process of delivery of product to our customers 

• Attend daily production meetings to feedback progress and be aware of the daily schedule 

• Identify and carry out improvement projects with the Production Manager for your area 

• Ensure your team have materials and equipment they need to avoid unnecessary downtime 

• Arranging of holiday cover and overtime as required to ensure continuous production in your area 

• Operate equipment and train others as required. (Up to 90% of your working day will be operating machinery) 

Do you have the correct profile? 

• Team leader or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment 

• Experience of Flexographic print or corrugated case conversion very beneficial 

• Fit and able to carry out physical work. 

• Must be self-motivated to work on his/her own for part of the day 

• Able to prioritise, multitask and problem solve effectively 

• Positive attitude 

• The ability to learn quickly and pick up new skills 

• Strong leadership skills and be able to lead by example 

Experience on the following machines / areas could be advantageous: 

• LMC, TCY and Pre-Production Facility 

• Previous Team Leader experience
