Production Team Lead

We are working with an established organisation within the manufacturing/production sector is currently seeking a Production Team Lead to join their team. Reporting to senior management, the Production Team Lead will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the production team. The role requires a proactive leader who can drive performance, maintain compliance with safety and quality standards, and support team development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and motivate a team of operatives in alignment with the company strategy and business objectives


• Manage team performance, development, and succession planning activities


• Implement and monitor performance measures, including downtime tracking and root cause analysis


• Ensure departmental compliance with BRC and customer food quality standards


• Assist with routine health and safety audits, incident investigations, and compliance training


• Contribute to the development of annual departmental goals and delivery plans


• Support cost control efforts and operate within budget parameters

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory or team leader role within a production environment


• Experience in conducting audits


• Sound understanding of current Health & Safety legislation


• Proven ability to manage budgets and control costs


• High attention to detail with strong record-keeping abilities

Desirable:

• Relevant food qualification


• Valid counterbalance forklift licence


• Experience operating an electric pallet truck


• IOSH Health & Safety qualification
