The role
As a Quality Inspector, your responsibilities will be crucial in ensuring that all products meet stringent quality standards and specifications. Your key tasks will include:
- Conducting comprehensive inspections of machined, fabricated, welded, pressed, painted, and laser-cut components to ensure they meet quality standards and customer requirements.
- Performing first off, patrol, batch, and visual inspections using precision inspection equipment.
- Completing First Article inspection reports according to various client specifications.
- Identifying and promptly reporting any deviations, defects, or non-conformities.
- Working closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Keeping accurate records of inspection results and quality documentation, including updating the ERP system.
- Assisting in the development and enhancement of quality control processes and procedures.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to boost product quality and efficiency within an ISO-controlled environment.
- Effectively communicating quality-related information to relevant stakeholders.
You will have a degree in engineering, manufacturing, or equivalent proven experience in a similar quality inspection role within the precision engineering sector. You should demonstrate:
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
- A strong grasp of quality control principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using various measurement tools and equipment.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to detect defects and inconsistencies.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to upholding high-quality standards.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems is advantageous.
- The ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and management at all levels.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, CAD software).
- CMM experience would be a plus.
