Project Surveyor – Education & Healthcare Projects

?? Based in Hatfield | Permanent | Up to £65,000 + Car Allowance + Package

A long-established and financially stable regional main contractor is looking for a capable Project Surveyor to join their commercial team, managing multiple small to medium-sized projects across the education and healthcare sectors.

With a strong pipeline of secured work and a reputation for delivering quality builds with a personal touch, this is a great opportunity to take commercial ownership of varied and meaningful projects across the Home Counties and North London.

??? The Role:

You'll be based out of the Hatfield office, overseeing several live sites — typically refurbishment and new build schemes in the £250k to £3m range. Reporting to a Commercial Manager, you’ll be trusted to handle everything from subcontractor procurement to final accounts.

?? Responsibilities:

  Commercial management of multiple concurrent projects

  
  


• 
  

  Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and contract management

  
  


• 
  

  Monthly valuations, CVRs, and cost reporting

  
  


• 
  

  Identify and manage variations and change control

  
  


• 
  

  Work closely with site and project managers to ensure efficient delivery

  
  


• 
  

  Liaise with clients, consultants, and the supply chain

  
  

?? About You:

• 
  

  Proven experience as a Quantity or Project Surveyor with a main contractor

  
  


• 
  

  Experience delivering education, healthcare, or public sector works

  
  


• 
  

  Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts

  
  


• 
  

  Able to manage multiple smaller schemes at once

  
  


• 
  

  A proactive, hands-on approach with strong communication skills

  
  


• 
  

  Based within easy reach of Hatfield, with flexibility for local site travel
