The Care Home Manager will be responsible for the management of Valley Lodge Residential Home, being accountable to the Director or whom he/she shall nominate and to the Commission for Social Care Inspection.

The Care Home Manager will also be responsible for the overall administration and management of Valley Lodge, within the broad framework of the policies and procedures and systems based on the National Minimum Care Standards.

Except during periods of severe illness or annual leave, the Care Home Manager will be available at all times, to impart managerial and clinical knowledge and skills to all grades of staff. The Care Home Manager will ensure that high standards of service user care are maintained and will ensure the managing of the Home, using resources efficiently.

The Care Home Manager will carry out any other duties as deemed necessary by the Director or whom they shall nominate.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in a home care setting
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and symptoms
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement care plans
  • Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment plans, and medication administration
  • Assist with coordinating and arranging necessary medical equipment and supplies for patients
  • Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years as Care Home Manager / Registered Manager
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical procedures and protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Ability to work independently and make sound clinical judgments
  • Proficiency in medication administration and understanding of drug interactions
  • Familiarity with budgeting principles for managing patient resources effectively
