Role Responsibilities

As a Surgical Critical Care Nurse, you will:

  • Assess, plan and deliver care, based on individual patient needs in conjunction with the Multi-disciplinary Team.
  • Demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and be accountable for own actions.
  • Work within a team, supervising and directing junior staff and deputising for Senior Staff as required.
  • Participate in the training and development of staff to care for levels2 patients in the High dependency beds in the ward.
  • Ensure that own professional development is maintained and enhanced by engaging in external support from the Kent Critical Care network and surrounding NHS Trust.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Be a qualified Nurse with a Current NMC Registration.
  • Have post-registration clinical experience in a Critical Care setting.
  • Have evidence of your continuous professional development and its application.

Desirable

  • Hold a post graduate qualification in Surgical Nursing or Critical care.
  • Mentorship training and qualification
  • Have post registration medicine, surgery, orthopaedic or cardiac experience.
