Yard / Warehouse Operative – Building Merchants

ABC Depot is a building and timber merchant based in Welham Green, Hertfordshire. We sell building supplies online across London and the surrounding areas.
Due to growth we are looking to add 2 colleagues to the Warehouse team, we are currently looking for experienced forklift drivers to assist in the day-to-day operations of a busy yard/warehouse environment.
Job Specification:
- Assisting with loading and unloading deliveries using a forklift truck, picking orders, and moving stock around the site
- Picking orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Checking loaded goods against delivery notes
- Assisting Trade Counter customers as required
- Keeping work areas clean and tidy
- Adhering to Health & Safety regulations at all times
- Some manual handling is required
This is a full time, permanent role. Shift pattern is 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Alternate Saturdays, 7am to 1pm.
Person Specification:
- Forklift Truck Driving: 2 years (required)
- Builders merchant experience desirable, training will be given
- Be self motivated and be able to work as part of a team
- Have the ability to work quickly and efficiently with strong attention to detail
- Be able to follow health and safety regulations
- Good communication and customer service skills
To be considered for this role you must have a Forklift license with 2 years experience of working in a busy yard.
